New album, new live set

anjoving01

Finally, on Monday our new album is out. We really hope you will like it.
More on ‘This Is What You Get’ here.

Meanwhile, we are practising. And practising.
Erik, the drummer, is going to be a father any day now, so we will have to do without him on the shows next week (Parkteatret, Oslo Monday and Tromsø on Friday).
The photos are from Jo’s, where we have been doing the pre-production. We will do a much more basic sound, more stripped, Anja joins in on guitar, Ulf has a new sampler etc. Should be a nice treat – if we can deliver the goods!

Xmas treat

Silent Night
The new album is well under way, it will be called This Is What You Get and release date is May 25. Anja is doing the final vocals this month

Meanwhile, Jo and Anja recorded our take on Silent Night (performed once live, last December) in Jo’s studio this week. You can download it for free below. Merry Christmas! :-)

Jo and Anja played at the LowFi Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland this year as well – check out the video below – Six Seven Times.

Pavilion flyer
We play Pavilion in Oslo tonight, our only full gig in our home town this year.
If all goes well, we’ll post a vid of Anja singing ‘Silent Night’. Honestly.

December will be magic again

The above is a picture from Marrakech, Marocco on Sunday night. Just back from holiday there. Reminds me slightly about the ‘For Sleepyheads Only’ album sleeve photo…

Below, the new flyer for the Flunkschool club night. The November edition was cancelled due to common cold, I’ll try again on December 6 at the Pavilion cafĂ© in Oslo.

And remember we do a full Flunk gig at the same venue on Friday December 14.
Also, the remix album ‘Democracy’ is out now on iTunes and other digital services. It will also be out on old fashioned compact disc, if you prefer the material world! It’s good value in any case, 16 tracks, 16 different mixes.

And – oh – do remember to buy the new Burial album. Probably the best album this decade – still!

Some live clips from Bydgoszcz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KBgo5un-zc&html5=True

Someone obviously had a camera on their mobile on our gig in Bydgoszcz on Saturday.
Enjoy – I wouldn’t know the quality, since I tend not to have great enjoyment in watching myself in motion.

The concert was great, though. 700+ people and good fun. Thanks a lot to all our Polish fans. We were really, really impressed!

Hello Bydgoszcz

Sorry about the silence, we’re still here.
Or rather, right now we are in Bydgoszcz in Poland to play at the Low-fi Festival. We play tonight at 9 pm. Should be good fun – it’s been while since we’ve been touring. And we’re excited about playing some of the ‘Personal Stereo’ songs for the first time.

Setlist tonight will be:
Personal Stereo
If We Kiss
Heavenly
Morning Star
Miss World
Play
Sit Down
See You
Diet of Water and Love
Six Seven Times
Haldi
See Thru You
Blind My Mind
Blue Monday
True Faith

We’re playing at the Hala Astoria, details here if you should be interested.

Of other news: The remix album is officially out on November 12.
But you can download the lot on our website.

We’re working on some new tracks as well, going in a quite different direction than before. But it’s hard so say where they’ll end up and when they wil be out.

Belgrade gig

(Click on photos for high resolution version)

Flunk played live in Belgrade last weekend. Good fun, even did a radio show on Sunday.
Here are pictures from the show. Support band was the very amusing Swedish singer/songwriter Karl-Jonas Winqvist and his band. MySpace site here. He’s also in a band called First Flower Power – in fact the band all looked like the cast of brilliant Swedish director Lukas Moodysson‘s hippie movie Tilsammans (Together).

Other news? Well, we’re working on the album. Hopefully it’s finished by christmas. And it will – if all goes as planned – be out on April 30th next year. It’s going to be called Common Sense.

And oh, apparently See Thru You (off the For Sleepyheads Only album) appeared in a love scene in an episode of the ABC series Brothers & Sisters (Sally Field, Rachael Griffiths, Calista Flockhart…) this week. According to our best friend in the US, Beth Sereni.

And Blue Monday will be featured in the upcoming Nancy Drew movie, to be released next year.

Remember to check out our MySpace site.
