And now, the news…

Hope summer’s treating you well!
Just a few words from us – first of all Flunk are artist of the month on Auralgasms.com.
Click the picture above to access their radio.

The Nancy Drew movie featuring our Blue Monday version (it’s also on the soundtrack) premiered in the US in June, on Friday August 10 it’s in the theatres in Norway.
Just realised how the song is used in the movie. Here’s from a review in Newsweek/msnbc.com:
Nancy’s ditched the hybrid and is back in a retro-cool 1959 blue roadster. She also wears outfits cut from vintage Butterick patterns. Yet she does Internet research, listens to Flunk on her iPod and attends ultrahip Hollywood High.

The review in The Domonion Post (New Zealand) is finding the scene slightly annoying:
Even the anachronisms are out of whack in Nancy’s world. This kid drives a beautifully restored Nash Metropolitan, opines that “nothing sounds like vinyl”, and then downloads Flunk’s 2002 Blue Monday remake on to her oft-seen iPod: Product placement is always irritating, but it’s not usually completely nonsensical.

It’s world wide!

The Personal Stereo album is now available world wide. Since our label Beatservice use indie distributors in the various countries there will be shops that don’t have the album in store. But if requested, they should have easy access to our album.

Meanwhile, here’s a link to the official site for the forthcoming Nancy Drew movie featuring our Blue Monday version.

And you can still listen to Personal Stereo on our website!

Belgrade gig

(Click on photos for high resolution version)

Flunk played live in Belgrade last weekend. Good fun, even did a radio show on Sunday.
Here are pictures from the show. Support band was the very amusing Swedish singer/songwriter Karl-Jonas Winqvist and his band. MySpace site here. He’s also in a band called First Flower Power – in fact the band all looked like the cast of brilliant Swedish director Lukas Moodysson‘s hippie movie Tilsammans (Together).

Other news? Well, we’re working on the album. Hopefully it’s finished by christmas. And it will – if all goes as planned – be out on April 30th next year. It’s going to be called Common Sense.

And oh, apparently See Thru You (off the For Sleepyheads Only album) appeared in a love scene in an episode of the ABC series Brothers & Sisters (Sally Field, Rachael Griffiths, Calista Flockhart…) this week. According to our best friend in the US, Beth Sereni.

And Blue Monday will be featured in the upcoming Nancy Drew movie, to be released next year.
